Jennifer Sanfilippo, the author of Our Last Walk Home: Love, Cancer, and the Agony of Letting Go, leads a discussion of death. Sanfilippo decided to serve her community through death education and advocacy after losing her husband in 2020 to a rare form of leukemia. She is a certified End-of-Life Doula and works as a hospice volunteer and facilitator for Death Cafés. Death Cafés are offered on a not-for-profit basis and in an accessible, respectful, and confidential space with no intention of leading people to any conclusion, product, or course of action.
