The Town of Pittsford took an afternoon to recognize and thank the volunteers at Elderberry Express. The Elderberry Express is a free transportation service

for Pittsford residents 55 and over. Drivers transport seniors to and from medical appointments, banking activities, visits to friends, prescription pickups, hairdressers and grocery shopping.

There is one paid part-time executive director who takes the phone calls, finds drivers, and sets appointments. The volunteer Board of Directors is comprised of members from the community, the churches and other interested residents. A total of 65 volunteers support the organization and there is always a need for more!

A heartfelt thank you to these important volunteers who make the Elderberry Express a reality!
