John E. Bernacki, Jr. was sworn into office by Town Justice F. Robert Michel on Thursday evening, April 9. Bernacki will fill out the remaining term of Justice Michel
who recently announced his plans to retire after 22 years of dedicated service to the Town of Pittsford.
"We interviewed several capable and distinguished candidates for the position of Town Justice," said Pittsford Town Supervisor Bill Carpenter. "Ultimately, John Bernacki stood out because of his experience as an attorney who has represented clients in every town and village court in Monroe County. John has also compiled a strong record of service to the Town of Pittsford, giving him a unique understanding of our community, our families, and our values."
A vacancy on the Town Board was created when Bernacki assumed his duties as Town Court Justice. A candidate search process is underway to fill his seat on the Board; an announcement of the name of the interim Town Council member is expected in May.

Newly installed Town Justice John E. Bernacki, Jr. was congratulated by family, friends
and co-workers, after being sworn into office by retired Pittsford Town Justice F. Robert Michel.
The induction ceremony took place in Pittsford Town Court, Thursday evening, April 9.
