Our annual Memorial Day parade and Remembrance Ceremony will bring the community together in remembrance and appreciation on Monday, May 27 at 10:00am. The parade will follow its traditional route, starting at Sutherland High School, marching down Jefferson Road to Main Street and culminating at the Pittsford Cemetery for a moving ceremony (procession to enter on Washington Road). The Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony will include patriotic performances by the Pittsford Fire Department Band, and members of the Pittsford Sutherland High School Band. Town Supervisor Bill Smith, Village Mayor Bob Corby, Pittsford Fire Department Chief Doug Yeager, Reverend Joshua Walters, Rector of Christ Church, Vietnam War veteran Danny Barnes, and Rayson Miller American Legion Post Veterans of Foreign Wars Commander Jefrey Mason will place wreaths to honor and remember Pittsford military veterans. The Pittsford American Legion Honor Guard will provide a 21 Gun Salute to honor the fallen.
Following the ceremony, the Rayson-Miller American Legion Post 899 will host a reception at Post headquarters (21 N. Main Street, in the lower level of Village Hall).
