The Pittsford Town Board has proposed the expansion and complete upgrade and redesign of the Spiegel Community Center; implementation of the project is subject to a public vote by Pittsford residents. The vote will be held on Tuesday, October 18 from 7:00am – 9:00pm at the North Lodge of King’s Bend Park, 170 W. Jefferson Road; find a Google map of the vote location click HERE. Voters are being asked to approve bond financing of $9.3 million for the project, at a cost per household of $69 per year over 15 years for a home of average assessed value (average assessed home value in Pittsford is $275,075). The project cost is $3 million more than the cost to complete the minimum repairs necessary just to keep the current facility open. The project saves $6 million over building new, and allows the Town to offer current programs for years to come, with room for their growth, in a modern, expanded and greatly improved facility.
