Roadwork, lane closures at S. Main & Jefferson Continues Thurs., 7/28

The New York State Department of Transportation (NYS-DOT) will be making pavement repairs Wednesday through Thursday, 7/27 and 7/28 between 9AM and 2PM at the intersection of South Main Street (Route 64) and Jefferson Road (Routes 252/96) in the Village. One lane of traffic will be open in each direction during the roadwork. The work will consist of milling out and filling potholes and making repairs around a manhole. Traffic delays are expected in the work area; please consider using an alternate route if possible during this time.

The work is necessary to address issues affecting both those using the roadway and those living in the immediate area, as many complaints have been received regarding the road conditions there. Night and weekend work times for the project were considered, but night work would create a high level of noise and light for nearby residents and, due to nearly equal traffic volumes, weekend work would create a similar level of disruption.
