The Town of Pittsford’s Recreation Department recently received two awards from the Genesee Valley Recreation and Parks Society (GVRPS). The department received the Exceptional Program Award Class II for their new Guided Trail Hikes program, which offers a series of Saturday morning guided hikes along some of Pittsford’s historic pathways featured in the new trail maps. They also received the Special Publications & Marketing Award Class II for the new Pittsford Trail maps, a series of online and printable trail maps developed in coordination with the Town’s GIS and Public Works departments. Congratulations to all those involved!
The Town’s next series of guided trail hikes will be held this winter on January 30 (Wynd’s Woods), February 20 (Great Embankment via the Cartersville/Simon Stone’s Mill Trails and may include snowshoeing, weather permitting) and March 12 (Mitchell Trails).
