Storm debris pickup underway

Posted:
June 11, 2015

Wednesday night's strong rainstorms downed many branches and trees. Town crews are currently working to clear debris from roadways and public areas, as well as pick up yard debris from homes. Due to the extensive amount of storm debris, there will be some delays in the usual yard debris pickup routes; your patience is greatly appreciated. Crews will add a pickup route on Saturday to address the increased need.

To help us pick up downed branches and other debris as quickly as possible from your neighborhood, please:

  • Place your loose brush and branches in piles at the road edge behind the curb or gutter.
  • Branches placed in loose piles should be less than 8 feet in length and less than 8 inches in diameter.
  • Other yard debris should be placed in paper bags or reusable containers.

Questions or concerns regarding yard debris pick up can be directed to our Highway Department at 248-6270.

In case of any emergency situation, such as dangerous flooding or downed power lines, residents should call 911 immediately for assistance.
