PITTSFORD RESIDENTS ASKED TO VOTE ON PCSD CAPITAL PROJECTS

Pittsford Central School District residents can vote on two capital project referendums on Tuesday, December 11. Voting will be held at Barker Road Middle School between 7AM and 9PM. The two propositions address the maintenance of District facilities and improvements to its physical

education/athletic fields. If approved, these propositions will have a minimal tax impact on residents.

Proposition 1 – Repairs and Renovations, and Proposition 2 – Physical Education/Athletic Fields are designed to assist with the maintenance of District facilities in support of the teaching and learning environment.

Proposition 1 – Repairs and Renovations will be made at each school, but details and the extent vary by size and age of the school.  Proposition 1 includes these general scope items for each building (with some exceptions at Calkins Road Middle School):

  • HVAC system improvements
  • Fire alarm systems
  • Emergency lighting/Exit signage
  • Code compliance
  • Telephone/PA system upgrades

Proposition 2 – Physical Education/Athletic Fields includes these items:

  • Synthetic turf and running track resurfacing at the existing Mendon High School stadium)
  • Improvements to natural turf on rear fields at Mendon High School
  • Synthetic turf and stadium lights at the existing Sutherland High School stadium

If Proposition 2 (Fields) is passed, it will only go forward if Proposition 1 (Repairs and Renovations) passes as well. Absentee ballots must be received prior to 5PM on 12/11.
