This Friday, 10/24 at 7pm at Town Hall is the second of four interactive public budget sessions set by the Town Board to gather recommendations and comment from residents about the Town budget for 2015. They are offered in addition to the annual public budget hearing, which is scheduled for November 5. See the list below for meeting times and locations. Budget Public Input Meetings
“The Town Board members and I feel very strongly that the Town’s budget should reflect those projects and services our residents support and consider important,” said Pittsford Town Supervisor Bill Smith. “We want to expand the opportunity for discussion beyond the traditional single public hearing. To draft a budget is to make choices. We need residents to help us make these important choices by making their views clear during these interactive budget sessions.”
The proposed 2015 budget will include the athletic fields improvement project, an expense that voters approved in September’s referendum. The budget will accommodate as well state-mandated costs such as the increase in the minimum wage and increased pension contributions, and additional expenses consequent to those state-mandated costs.
The Town administration has completed a preliminary budget for 2015. It is available on the Budget page of the Town website.
