A memorial service (3:30pm) and remembrance celebration gathering (4-7pm) for former Town Supervisor Sandy Zutes will be held by her family this Saturday (1/16) at Oak Hill Country Club (145 Kilbourn Road, 14618); both are open to the public. Deeply dedicated to Pittsford and the residents she served, Sandy Zutes began her involvement with the Town in 1976 as a member of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board and over the years served on the Town’s Zoning and Planning boards before being elected to Town Council in 1994, at which time she was appointed Deputy Supervisor - a position she continued to hold for 19 years until she was appointed to serve as Town Supervisor in 2013. Sandy lent her support to several of the Town’s key initiatives and accomplishments, as enumerated in the Resolution of Commendation presented to her by the Pittsford Town Board upon her retirement from Town service. She is truly missed, and will always be remembered in Pittsford with affection and gratitude.
